Cool Inventions! Yummy Like Toastabags!

Toastabags (Price: $9.95)
Its a bag you put your food in before you toast it. Helps keep the cheese and crumbs from making a mess in your toaster.

"But hidden behind this trash bag facade is a thermological, nutrition preparation device of truly impressive proportions. For, as its name suggests, the Toastabag allows you to cook things in a toaster. Not in every toaster, just the slotted kind that most people have nowadays. All you do is put the ingredients in the bag, pop it down in the toaster and wait."

Dance Post #5 - M&M Crew

Yes, I know! Miley again! But I'm posting this because they're just dancing. No tricks. No celebrities. Just straight dancing. It reminded me of the good times at practice back in college. Breakdancing on the marble floor in Bender. I miss you Daichi.

FREE NETFLIX?!

So besides Netflix being one of my favorite stock picks since my hero Peter Lynch suggests that you should buy stock in companies when you own their products and see the value first hand. Well I love Netflix and my rental list is like 400 DVDs long. Most of them are Anime series but if you are truly a Film buff or want to get into film making... you need to have Netflix. They have everything which will make it easier for you to watch ALL of the 100 greatest films of all time, catch up on the entire TV series like LOST or even see those hard to find films like The Ice Pirates.

Well enough advertising... here's the plan. I have 4 COUPONS for a 1-Month Free Trial of Netflix. (Their free trials are usually only 2 weeks long) You can sign up, try it out and cancel your subscription at the end of your month if you don't like it. It's a great deal if you split the monthly fee with your roommates. I'm on the 2-DVD plan for $14/month and I share it with the GF. I usually watch my movies the same day that I get the DVD, so the turn around time equals savings!

So call me, email me or just leave a comment and I will send you the coupon code. Remember I have only 4! SO DO IT NOW!

Be Polite, say Good Morning!

For the next few weeks, please go out of your way to say "Good morning" or "Hello" to everyone you see on a daily basis who you don't know. (Remembering their name is a plus!)

For me, its my morning commute to work which is often sprinkled with recognizable folks. The three that I see the most are the two people who hand out Express newspapers at the metro and the metro attendee who stands outside of his fortress to people watch. All of them seem to be hard working people. It's odd when they're not there.

Artist You Should Know: Linda Plaisted

"Linda Plaisted is a classically trained painter, photographer and mixed media artist who has exhibited her work in galleries and museums throughout North America.
Her work is held in private and corporate collections worldwide. Each piece of artwork she creates is layered by hand with images she has captured in her photographs, drawings, paintings and collected ephemera. Her delight in nature and the unique ability to conjure mood from the simplest of compositions is evident in her work." -- Manymuses

"Recapture that carefree spirit with the work of local artist Linda Plaisted of Manymuses Studio... Plaisted captures images that she tints and layers with bright colors and vintage-cast borders to create retro scenes that would fit right into a Tim Burton set. You can also find more haunting images: open fields, hovering crows, and Civil War battlefields, often with old, dust-covered viewfinders." -- DailyCandy

I am in love with her work and if I had the extra cash I would so buy one. I think I will have to settle for a new desktop wallpaper for now. Her "Four and Twenty Blackbirds" gallery is amazing and definitely inspiring. As an artist who thrives on mixed media, remixing and appropriation, it was a breath of fresh air.

Drunk dialing...one stop short of a booty call

One Friday night. Me sitting on the couch in between two friends, murdering like crazy with Gears of War. Cell phone vibrates in my pocket. Figuring its the girlfriend. I answer. Yet it wasn't. Just an ex on her way home after happy hour. Its an hour commute and she felt like catching up. What was to follow was a quick run down of my current life choices and her crazy dreams of making it one day. Awkward silence. Why did she call? Just wanted to talk and mock me for my taste in movies? No, let's be honest. Drunk dialing and drunk texting means only one thing girl...SEX.

"Drunk dialing is a pop-culture term denoting an instance in which an intoxicated individual places phone calls that he or she would not likely place if sober. The term often refers to a lonely individual calling former love interests."
Drunk Dialing -- Wikipedia

"There are two kinds of drunk dials: Those you remember and those don't. Perhaps the worst are the drunk calls you actually remember the next morning, the recollection of these conversations is that much more embarrassing."
When drunk, leave the phone alone -- The Maine Campus

Science Is Cool: The LHC

No its not some cool secret club or new pop band BUT it is a huge billion dollar laser gun that man built because he could. I know nothing about it and I don't see any reason for it. Besides if it has the ability to destroy the world then WHY play God? Whatever, I will let my main man, Sxephil do the talkin.

The LHC- The WORLD ENDS on Wednesday!

"Large Hadron Collider - is the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator complex, intended to collide opposing beams of protons.... Its main purpose is to explore the validity and limitations of the Standard Model, the current theoretical picture for particle physics."

Pink Polkadot Trash Bags?

"Initiated by artist Adrian Kondratowicz, the project is as simple as it is poetic: in selected city blocks, normal black plastic rubbish bags are swapped for colourful polkadot versions, effectively turning whole neighborhoods into bright urban sculpture gardens on rubbish collection day."

Trash:AnyColorYouLike

The bags are not cheap plus they will need to ship them to you if you live in DC but Adrian Kondratowicz’s project making a statement on mass consumption is unique, cute and practical. I'd love to try this out in my back alley. Power to the Polkadot!

Showoff gets Knocked Out

I know I posted this on Facebook weeks ago but seriously it makes me happy. Especially if you are a Tekken fan and hate button mashers.
