Firstworld

Firstworld is the musical endeavor of Miami producer and artist Kris Alvarez and it's dreamy magic. Firstworld's debut EP "I'm Right Here" made waves charting on NACC's Top 200, as well as being praised by FMBQ as a top 30 album. With new singles, Alvarez is exploring various themes on anxiety in the form of love songs.

Friday

Uffie

Anna-Catherine Hartley, known professionally as Uffie, is an American-French singer, rapper, and DJ formerly signed to French electronic music record label Ed Banger Records. I don't even know how I originally found Uffie more than a decade ago. It might have been via The Cobra Snake photos or even an Ed Banger playlist. I just know that she sounds like the internet and I dig it. It's so pre Dojo Cat, so I'm glad to see that she's still making music.

Sunday

Monophonics

Monophonics has a such a solid classic soul sound. "Raised amid the rich musical culture and history of the San Francisco Bay Area, Monophonics proudly carry the torch through the generations into today’s musical landscape. Holding on to tradition, but by no means purists of any kind, they play their own brand of music known as 'Psychedelic Soul'... 'One of the best live soul bands I have ever seen!' – Al Bell (Record producer, songwriter, executive, and co-owner of legendary Stax Records)"

Thursday

Bonobo

I've mentioned the legend that is Bonobo on the blog many times before. I was lucky enough to see Simon Green and his band perform live in DC and it was so much fun, because in college I made a series of narrartive videos co-inspired by his music called Dead Season. His new album "Fragments" drops soon, so I'm posting his older albums below. Also Spotify's Best of Bonobo playlist is fire. Enjoy.
