Tron 2 Trailer

I am beyond pumped for Tron Legacy. I loved the first one as a kid and even bought the DVD. Its going to be sooo good.

SHRIIMP Graffiti On Girls

So SHRIIMP.com is a website full of photos of graffiti on girls (and of course its NSFW). Well the reason why this caught my eye is because I already do this!

Not many people know, but I can draw and I used to draw tattoos and graffiti all over my hands and arms in class and in church. Once I got to college, I moved onto art books and eventually started drawing all over Margaret (my GF at the time).

Well today, I rarely draw anymore unless its on the computer and occasionally I'll doodle something across my GF's back. So this website has given me a great excuse to get back into it and try some new designs!

Well my tag name is "Loop-A-Leep" so keep an eye out for it. I found my 30 pack of Sharpies yesterday, so if you are interested in being a canvas, let me know. I'm always looking for new models, even for my photography.

Check out the website. It's artastic!

Perfect Flavor Custom Ice Cream

A Perfect Flavor sounds like the most wonderful idea for a summer vacation for your taste buds! The Cold Stone near me closed down and the Baskin-Robbins seems to far away. So yes I will gladly create my own ice cream but... isn't this a free country?

So I shouldn't have to pay $100+ to be able to create my own ice cream?! Oh well, guess I'm sticking with Butter Pecan which suits me fine.

"So you’ll scream for Perfect Flavor, a new online ice cream shop that lets you create your own pints. Begin by choosing a base: mousse, sweet cream, cheesecake, French custard, sorbet, or gelato. Follow by selecting a flavor for the chosen medium: chocolate, vanilla, coffee, or caramel...(Note: Choose wisely as you are committed to four pints of the concoction.)" -- DailyCandy

Miseducation USA: A 14 Day Policy

This is the letter I received after sending a somewhat rude email to them about refusing me a refund on the $1700 premium I paid for production insurance. To keep it short, I had to cancel the two week production for my thesis film and have spent the last few days trying to get some of my money back. So after receiving this.... no wonder our financial system has gone to hell since its too screwed up for common sense. Enjoy.

Hi Isaiah,

The reason why we are not able to offer you any sort of partial refund is twofold. The first being that the documents that you signed and returned all state that premium is fully earned and cannot be cancelled. While this can sometimes be ignored for a policy that has not been in effect, this was not the case. You did use the policy, even if for one day.

The other reason is the number of days you purchased. The minimum premiums cover a production for 1-15 days. Your policy included 14 days of coverage. Whether you had purchased a 1 day policy or a 14 day policy, with the coverage options you selected, the price would have been the same. If you had purchased a policy that was above the minimum block (15 days) we could of gone to the underwriters and explained the situation and possibly gotten you a refund of the difference.

However, this was not the case. You purchased a policy that had minimum coverage dates and used the policy for at least one of those days. Therefore we are unable to provide you with any sort of partial refund. We are an independent broker, not the underwriting company. We made about a very low amount of money on your policy. Around $150, which is definitely not enough to make it worth losing your business, but you have to understand that there is nothing that we are able to do because of the reasoning above.

I am sorry for the disheartening response and if there were something that I would be able to do to ensure your satisfaction, I definitely would. Unfortunately, my hands are tied. I hope that you can understand that, given the explanation above.

Please address any questions to me and I will ensure that they are answered promptly.

RIP: Michael Jackson

Too many people died too soon. It's been a weird few weeks in pop media. I didn't even understand how to approach it. I avoided most of the articles and thought about how much we all seem to fear death. It's a bitter sweet escape.

Thanks Michael for making music that my family could dance to from our first steps well into our old age. You're timeless and you're a game changer and that is why we loved to hate you. Your music was a great gift to the world and it inspires all.

“Someone once told me: It's okay to think about what you want to do, until it's time to start doing what you were meant to do.” - The Rookie (2002)

I feel like that pretty much sums up the past 5 years of my life. Especially when people ask me what I want to do when I grow up. I always answer proudly and state that I invested my college career reaching out for that goal. Then I slowly realize that I don't know what I'm talking about. That the price of success might be too high for my taste and what I am meant to do... is less glamorous. Less dramatic.

FRESH MUSIC: Christina Courtin

For me Christina Courtin is like a gentle breeze on a sunny day. It's the kind of music you blast through the house while cleaning barefoot. It's soft beautiful and full of emotion. Definitely worth checking out if you like Corinne Bailey Rae. When I get to New York, I'm definitely checking out a show, but check out her MySpace for more info.

"We were positively smitten and today present the delightful mermaid-haired Brooklynite, who studied classical violin at Juilliard, playing with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma, Kanye, and Beyoncé, before transitioning to honky-tonk-inspired singer/songwriter."

Chinese Propaganda Posters

So for $199-269, some guy will turn your photo into a Chinese propaganda poster. Coolest idea ever? You bet.

Propaganda is communication aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense, often presents information primarily in order to influence its audience. -- Wikipedia

So why not have portrait in your home aimed at making people think you're really cool, rich or great at sex? Either way, I think they do a fantastic job.

Well here are some other websites filled with crazy propaganda posters, enjoy: Amazing Propaganda Posters & Nazi Posters: 1933-1945

FRESH MUSIC: "Heartbreaker"

I can't stop listening to "Heartbreaker" by MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend

It's got a great flow and solid piano riffs. I think having John's vocals definitely adds the right amount of soul.

Sexy Wetsuits

The Fake Shark Attack Wetsuit by Diddo (they make s*ck sh*t) is not only frighteningly realistic but a great conversation starter for meeting hot chicks.

"Want to look like a shark attack victim? I know, who doesn't? Well now thanks to a line of wetsuits by Diddo, you can... Currently only available in limited editions, the wetsuits will hit full production sometime in the near future." -- Geekologie

I don't surf or scuba dive so I've never been in a wetsuit but I think making a fashion statement while doing your thing is never wrong.

Speaking of surfing... OMG!

Jennifer's Body

I know that horror films make good money but when you add Megan Fox to a crazy whacked out High School horror story. You might just have a hit, though I'm not going to see this in theaters.

The Uniform Project

Growing up as a kid I would try to wear my favorite t-shirt or PJs for a whole week, but my parents would force me change and put on clean underwear everyday.

Well, The Uniform Project has one woman wearing the same dress (sort of) for a whole year! Not only is she tryng to raise money for kids in India but she's really making a fashion statement and is thinking outside the box to keep her look fresh.

"Sheena Matheiken, the genius behind The Uniform Project, has seven copies of the cotton black dress she’s wearing every single day for a year — all in an effort to raise money for Indian school children living in slums." Check out her interview!

Also, Alex Martin did the same thing in 2005 called "Brown Dress" and I doubt any man could get away with this concept. Oh wait, we already do.

Artist you should know: Josh Keyes

Josh Keyes is an all around artist that combines colors, nature and man made objects into imaginative pieces of art. He does it all, but its his paintings that catch you mid step. Check out his studio and his interview with Fecal Face. I definitely want some of his work for my office. It reminds me of our impact on the world.

"Few contemporary artists portray animals with the empathy of Josh Keyes. At once meticulous and fantastic, poignant and absurd, Keyes' carefully crafted drawings and paintings depict animals isolated dramatically in fragments of their natural environment, overrun with shards of man-made artifice and debris..." - George Melrod, Art Ltd West Coast Art and Design

The Making of Braille

So I totally stole this from Rana, a journalist/musician that I met at an Once Okay Twice show. I just felt her email, really cracked the door into the independent music scene and that this artist's music is worth listening too. Also as an independent filmmaker (and an artist) finding the inspiration to keep moving forward is VERY important. Never stop.

Ladies and gentlemen. May I have your attention, please?

Being an independent musician these days is no joke. What we do is sersious business. We do it because we have to. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that nothing good ever comes easily. This is Heather Renee. She has been pursuing her musical career for the past 12 years. She is an absolute success and the epitome of what it means to do something you love ONLY for the sake of loving it. If you can't give your full heart, don't give it at all.

Please take the time to watch this video. Not only will you be introduced to an up and coming superstar (you'll say, "I knew her when she made a YouTube video, self-edited at that..."), but you'll learn about our lives and see that it's not so glamorous in terms of what we gain materially - but rather, the true riches are what we are left with in the end.

And that is the measure of man.

Have fun and enjoy. Her music is free, for God's sake!

Love always. Ask Y. Be You.

My Photography: Ally's Test Shoot

Just added new modeling photos to my Flickr. I met Ally on the streets in Georgetown. She was standing in a doorway and her eyes caught the grey light coming from the clouds. It was a second in time that lasted a minute. I tried my best to capture that light. I will try to post more from her test shoot within the next month.

FRESH MUSIC: Tommy Trash

If you are looking for good electric dance party music for this weekend? Then Tommy Trash is your man.

"Producer, DJ and musician, Tommy Trash is on track to become one of the biggest names in Australian dance music. In the space of a few months, he has risen from nowhere to score hot record deals and even hotter club appearances." -- last.fm

I feel like his music has a little bit of everything in it, especially Daft Punk which is why I'm so in love with it. My two favorite tracks are "Let Me Love You" and "SoStrong Meck". Also the video for "Need Me to Stay" is worth watching. Happy Friday!

Cantankerous!

Hello July! OMG, its almost mid summer already? AUGH! I'm so freaking out. I'm running out of time to shoot my thesis film. More to come later...

Anyways... I am unhappy with myself and how things are rolling along, but I can't complain because I have my health and I'm surrounded by people I enjoy. They say if money is your only problem, then you are living a great life. Hmmm... that makes my life super great then.

On the upside, one of my fraternity brothers only uses Twitter to post positive quotes. Thanks bro, I find them uplifting.

"Failure inspires winners and defeats losers. Play to win and hate to fail but don't be so afraid to fail that you play not to lose."

Well, I'm revamping my blog. Cassandra seems to do this every three months, so I'm breaking my rules of only doing this once a year. Let me know what you think of the new version. I think it's easier to read. Also, I might switch up the format to posting once a day.... everyday. I've been too busy to keep up with it, but since my blog is made for me by me I don't want to stop. I like reading old posts and listening to my FRESH MUSIC posts. Either way, it needs to be cleaned up and organized. I'm a neat freak.

That's all for now. I'm working on a pre trailer for my film that I will post. Hopefully, I can raise enough funds to do this thing. It's going to be legendary, so I know you want to help.

Peace outside and enjoy the 4th. If you haven't made it out to the Artomatic yet to see my art... you got 4 days left, so go.

I Heart That Shirt #13: Michelangelo Turtles T-Shirt

Okay, I think I just found my party shirt for the summer. Hahaha! I love the turtles! Totally grew up with them and Mikey is definitely my favorite. What would make this anymore perfect if I could find three more fools to buy the rest of the shirts.
