Tiger Woods and the 19th hole

The Wanda Sykes Show: Tiger Woods Car Accident

I don't care what the truth is... Wanda's version is how I see it. And, its not a race thing, an athlete thing, its a rich guy thing... can't rule the world dude and cheat on your wife.

"Tiger Woods offered a 'profound apology' to his family and fans Wednesday as he was linked to a third reported mistress. 'I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart,' Woods wrote on his Web site." -- NYDailyNews.com

Tiger Woods Cheated on his wife for THAT?!

The Maine Effect

My office got to work on this campaign cutting their commercials. As an editor I spent hours browsing through footage of average people standing up for what they believe in.

Well I had seen the film "Milk" and suddenly found myself standing on the battlefield that Harvey had died on. I don't do many political things but this one felt right. I know people who take this issue dear to heart and I could trust them with my life. They're responsible, intelligent and tax paying citizens. The fact that this had to be voted on felt backwards. Unnecessary.

I'm for gay marriage because if we're going to demand fair laws for all citizens (God bless America); then we CAN'T create unfair laws for a few citizens. Especially if not having those laws doesn't affect the rest of us. It just doesn't make any sense! The fact that people can be so against gay marriage but want freedom for themselves is silly. Little Johnny doesn't want to share his toy ball but wants Phil to let him play with his Legos? Tsk tsk, what a shame.

Anyways... it was a good fight and I am proud to have worked on this. I think it's only a matter of time before its no longer an issue. You just have to be patient.

Maine Gay Marriage Vote: Voters Repeal Law Legalizing Gay Marriage

"We're in this for the long haul. For next week, and next month, and next year until all Maine families are treated equally. Because in the end, this has always been about love and family and that will always be something worth fighting for," said Jesse Connolly

Kanye West Is Crazy

I'm sorry but its true. That was beyond rude and Taylor was not expecting to win at ALL. She's a talented hardworking artist who deserves respect. I don't listen to her music, but seriously... WTF Kanye. Fishsticks!

Proportionality: A Guide Line In War? Interview R.S.McNamara

I don't stand on either side and I don't care to even hear or learn why they are fighting but when it comes to war... killing civilians is never right. If you mean to kill civilians say what it is... genocide? Proportionality should be a guide line in any war, but then again... would it really be war?

Pink Polkadot Trash Bags?

"Initiated by artist Adrian Kondratowicz, the project is as simple as it is poetic: in selected city blocks, normal black plastic rubbish bags are swapped for colourful polkadot versions, effectively turning whole neighborhoods into bright urban sculpture gardens on rubbish collection day."

The bags are not cheap plus they will need to ship them to you if you live in DC but Adrian Kondratowicz’s project making a statement on mass consumption is unique, cute and practical. I'd love to try this out in my back alley. Power to the Polkadot!

The Anti Budweiser - Why you shouldn't buy it

A beautiful thing about our country is that Americans as consumers have the last say. No matter how big you get, if we don't buy your product...you go out of business. Well my friends, some of us our trying to unite under one banner for we are outraged by Budweiser selling itself like an two dollar whore to InBev.

"The Budweiser maker, which controls nearly half the U.S. beer market, agreed July 13 to be bought by InBev, brewer of Beck's and Brahma, for $52 billion in cash. The deal, which will create the world's largest brewer, is expected to close by year end."
Anheuser Net Edges Up, Helped by a New Brand -- The Wall Street Journal

Why does this bother us? Well this wouldn't be a big issue if Bud wasn't the greatest American beer. I mean it has some serious roots within our country and now it just up and left? Granted they're still making the beer here but its no longer technically an American company. So this my plea to you to boycott Budweiser. Life As List's "Just Say No" post gives you a great long list of Bud products that you shouldn't buy. Here's a sample of them: Busch, Natural Light, Rolling Rock, O'Doul's, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra... and the list goes on!!

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about...maybe I'm being a jackass about this. They're calling it a merger to sound nice but next time I'm out at a bar. I'm ordering a Miller Lite. It's Miller Time baby.

Stick it to the man. A man called YouTube.

So anyone who spends too much time on the Internet knows about YouTube and if you spend too much time on YouTube you should know about all the controversy--the blocking, the spamming, the censorship and the legal issues.

Well though I'm not sure if its illegal, you now can watch any video you want in high quality! Just paste this code at the end of any YouTube video URL address and it will be played in a higher quality. → CODE: &fmt=18

Why? Well here's Wikipedia's answer...

"A standard quality YouTube video has a picture 320 pixels wide by 240 pixels high, and uses the Sorenson Spark H.263 video codec.....In March 2008, YouTube launched a feature which allowed some of its videos to be viewed in 'High Quality' format. This format offers the possibility of better video definition (480x360 pixels instead of the standard 320x240 pixels) for any video uploaded after this date. YouTube decides which videos are capable of this improved quality based on the standard of the original upload. Users can choose "always show me higher quality when available" on their video quality settings page in their account pages to switch automatically to the better quality. YouTube's high quality videos are available in two versions, both of which have a picture size of 480 x 360 pixels. By adding &fmt=6 to the web address of a video, it is played using the H.263 codec with mono sound, and by adding &fmt=18 it is played using the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec with stereo AAC sound. Asked why YouTube did not choose HD format, the site answered : "Our general philosophy is to make sure that as many people as possible can access YouTube and that videos start quickly and play smoothly. That's one reason why you don't see us racing to call this 'Super Duper YouTube HD,' because most people don't want to wait a long time for videos to play."
Standard and high quality videos, YouTube -- Wikipedia.com

All in all because people lack the patience YouTube will stick with the crappy picture but you can bypass that by adding the code. Yep, freedom still rings.

PS> In more controversy news, this video by Cut Chemist has been seen more then 80 million times on YouTube but isn't ranked, I wonder why? Anyways, its still a great song.

Give Me My Money!

Sometimes bitches be crazy. She got to keep everything but the title. We all know that sounds fair enough.

Silva was told she could keep the actual crown and the $4,500 Miss California USA necklace she had been given—as well as recoup her $1,500 entry fee and compete again for free—but that apparently didn't cut it for the scorned Silva, who turned out to scorned second runner-up. Alleging fraudulent concealment and misrepresentation, negligence, false advertising, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and several other torts, she is seeking at least $500,000 in damages to compensate for the "public humiliation, mental anguish and distress, lost opportunities, lost prizes and lost monies paid to and expended on her behalf."
