Video: History of the iPhone

So informative and makes you want to invest in Apple. We still have so much to invent.

Technology: Strandbeest

Strandbeest are simply stunning and a little creepy. I want to see one of these in action up close. Brilliant Theo!

Back to the Future Hoverboard

If there was ever a gift, I wish I could have asked for when I was a kid. A floating hoverboard would be in the top three.

"Using electromagnets embedded in the podium and a laser system to measure its position, artist Nils Guadagnin has managed to keep a familiar-looking pink plank aloft, a full five years and five months before the real deal supposedly sees common use." -- engadget.com

Technology: Hipstamatic App

The Hipstamatic iPhone App is probably one of my favorite iPhone apps, so far to date. For $1.99 you get a picture taking tool that stylizes photos to look like fun classic images from the past. Plus, I think it's sharper than the regular camera though there is a slight learning curve.

"The Hipstamatic for iPhone is an application that brings back the look, feel, unpredictable beauty, and fun of plastic toy cameras from the past."

My Hipsta photos are featured on my blog, but you can always check out the flickr site for the mother load.

Technologic: Light Touch

Basically, its a projected holographic keyboard. Light Touch, really has the ability to change the way we shop. Maybe even cut down on the lines at the mall.

"As the name implies, LBO's product is a laser projector that turns any flat surface into an auto-focused and image-adjusted 10-inch touchscreen with WVGA resolution thanks to its laser- (not LED) based pico projection engine dubbed HLP (holographic laser projection) and infrared touch-sensing system." -- engadget.com

iPhone: Make Your Own Free Ringtones!

So I bought a few ringtones in my day. Yes, I paid twice for a song just to hear it play when the GF called. So what... but deep down I knew there was a way to play them for free. Especially since I didn't buy most of my music.

Good news, eHow.com has an easy how-to process that works like a charm. Enjoy!

"Actually, with a little bit of trickery (nothing illegal) you can create ringtones from any one of your non-DRM songs in your iTunes library easily and for free." -- eHow.com

Pandora + Car = Road Trip!

I love Pandora and I have been using it for like the past four years at work. Seriously what an awesome idea and I've found so many new bands with it. My iPhone usually dies on the road if I stream Pandora for 5 hours so this is a God send.

"...the company is now working with various car manufacturers (including Ford) to better integrate Pandora music streaming into vehicles. That will apparently first come in the form of in-dash or hands-free controls to let folks use a docked device running Pandora."

'Secret Knock' Door Lock

The kind of people who come up with this stuff are amazing! As a kid I would have loved this for my bedroom.

Grafitti Lights The Way

I enjoy light writing and I think this a great tool to not only practice the art but to encourage you to try it outdoors. Good one

"thanks to the Halo LED spraycan -- a DIY project by Aissa Logerot -- which not only looks like the primary tool of al fresco art, it even recharges itself when shaken."
Halo LED spraycan lets you make grafitti the cheap, legal way -- engadget.com

"Mimicking an aerosol can, Paris-based designer Aïssa Logerot’s Halo uses an LED light in place of a nozzle and gets its power from the same shaking action that mixes the paint. The interchangeable LED bulbs allow different colors and brightness depending on the occasion. Read more"

When I watch videos like this, I always feel we are on the crest of the next greatest thing. That the reality of technology from Star Trek to Back to the Future... really isn't that far away.

Blows my mind dude.

Better Place Cars

The idea of electric cars has blown up in recent years. I think Agassi's problem solving plan could work, yet I feel that there are too many moving parts and too many RICH people loosing their income stream for this to work in the next ten years. BUT it is a solid step in the right direction.

Skype is Officially on the iPhone!

"Skype is set to launch its iPhone application Tuesday bringing its much anticipated Net-based phone service to Apple's mobile platform. With the Skype iPhone app users will be able to make free calls using Wi-Fi to other Skype users as well as use their Skype accounts to make reduced price calls to traditional landline phones."
Sneak Peek at Skype for iPhone, Available Tuesday -- PCWorld

I already use Nimbuzz for Skype but a Skype specific app may make things sound clearer. So if it is free, I will try it out. Though I can't wait til the iPhone has a video camera, by then I'm sure I won't be needing Skype as much. Apple seems to be taking its time on building a new version of this wonderful gadget.

Microsoft Sustainability

This might not work for everyone but its still VERY impressive.

"Incredible presentation of what could be the daily newspaper of the future and the technological future in 2019 according to the Microsoft manufacturer. A work prepared by the services R & D showing the association of tactile and numerical paper. More images and video in the continuation." -- Fubiz

Technology: 3D Video Projection

Videoprojection Showreel 2009 EASYWEB

This seriously blew my mind the first time I saw it. This is nothing I thought, then they started making it look like a giant Tetris game. If I was walking on the street and saw this quickly flash by... I would think I was crazy. Very cool!

Al Gore invented the internet?

History of the Internet

Wow, I'm sure there are classes you can take in computer history but seriously my brain started to freeze. Basically the internet is just a gigantic network of computers, built because of the threat of war. And it looks like a universe within a universe.

Still a great animation though.
