MUSIC VIDEO: "Stillness Is The Move "

Dirty Projectors - Stillness Is The Move

Such a great song that I had to post the video as well. I love the beat and her vocals have the right energy. Sounds like hope. Also, Solange's cover just validates the beauty of the lyrics.

FRESH MUSIC: Metronomy

Metronomy has a fun electric rock pop sound that keeps the spirit moving. Plus when you're making music videos like "A Thing For Me" you really do know how to have a good time. But honestly, it's their remix skills that caught my attention. Enjoy.

"Metronomy is an electronic music group formed by Joseph Mount in Totnes, Devon, England in 1999... Their music consists of instrumental electronic music and more recently, with the release of Nights Out, vocal electronic pop music. Mount also releases remixes under the name Metronomy, and has remixed many artists including Franz Ferdinand, Goldfrapp, Zero 7 and Lykke Li." -- Wikipedia

John Cleese on creativity.

Interesting ideas. I really need to try this out sometime and it might explain why I'm so bloody productive (creative wise) at 4am in the morning.

JOHN CLEESE WCF

"Another interesting point Cleese makes is that knowing you are good at something requires precisely the same skills you need to be good at it, so people who are horrible at something tend to have no idea they are horrible at all." --

I can't stop listening to...

“Runaway” (feat. Pusha T) by KanYe West

It's not that the song speaks to me personally, but I really do feel it. (Plus the dancer theme is killing it.) Well, I'm looking forward to the short film and the new album. Thanks KanYe for making my Adventure Month, just that much more awesome.

FRESH MUSIC: "Electric Feel" x Katy Perry

So this cover is more than a year old, but I still love it... and I will state that MGMT may have set the bar too high for themselves with this amazing song. Seriously, I'm always in the mood for some electric feel.

WEBSITE: The Squirrel In Our Window

The Squirrel In Our Window is a blog that was dedicated to a squirrel that was living in their window. Well, I'm slightly creeped out by this because DC squirrels are crazy, but if this happened to me when I was a kid... I'd probably be a Veterinarian today. Definitely, worth browsing the photo album for cute pics.

"In July of 2009, a female squirrel made its nest (called a drey) in the outer sill of one of our apartment windows. We were privileged to be able to watch her birth and raise her babies over the next 8 weeks, until she took them all down to the ground for real-world training."

Keep It Short: "Dot"

Amazing! But I will never have the patience to create something like this.

Dot. The world's smallest stop-motion animation character shot on a Nokia N8.

"Professor Fletcher's invention of the CellScope, which is a Nokia device with a microscope attachment, was the inspiration for a teeny-tiny film created by Sumo Science at Aardman. It stars a 9mm girl called Dot as she struggles through a microscopic world."

Video: "Timelapse Montage"

This is very impressive, because the time lapse dollies so smoothly. I'm sure we'll see the technique applied in some feature film soon. (Plus, great music selection too.)

FRESH MUSIC: The Pass

The Pass have posted their new album on SoundCloud. It's worth playing in the background, while you work. Plus, I dare you not to hum along.

"If you enjoy one song on Burst, you pretty much like them all; it’s jovial, energetic, and uplifting, reeking of disco swagger and a punk rock aptitude to boot. The cascade of electronic sounds The Pass display here, not to mention their keen ability to produce party bangers, makes Burst a pretty impressive debut from an unknown band." -- PrettyMuchAmazing.com

Improv Everywhere and their Mp3 Experiment is one of the coolest Web 2.0 events I've ever seen. I so want to plan a trip to NYC just to be apart of this madness.

FRESH MUSIC: We Were Promised Jetpacks

We Were Promised Jetpacks have such a solid sound. It really drives you. Plus I haven't had this much fun listening to NEW alternative rock music in a long time. They'll be at the Rock N Roll Hotel in DC on the 10th. You should go see them.

Awesome Blogs: Flirtexting

Flirtexting.com is a fun little blog written by two women on how to play the flirting game in our high tech culture. I think they give some good advice when it comes to this odd game of dating. (Also, they wrote a book about it.)

"Thinking back, spotting a hottie with a pretty girl by his side does automatically give him more street cred. Whether the girl is his best friend, his cousin or his lab partner, if she’s pretty and talking to him, then other girls are going to want to know the scoop!" -- A Hot Girl BFF – Why every guy needs one

"The subtext is what we really mean by what we text. Texting can leave a lot up to misinterpretation, so it’s important that flirtexters are able to read subtext." -- SubText

"Fellas, OYLG’s have gone out with guys richer than you, better looking than you, and who have bigger (fill in the blank) than you. Therefore, when trying to date an OYLG, you must be confident in yourself at all times in-order to stand a chance against opposing players." -- Step #1 – How to get a girl who is “Out of Your League” to go out with you!

MUSIC VIDEO: "Fire In Your New Shoes"

Kaskade sounds like techno. Dragonette sound like a metallic funky drum machine with Martina driving the melody. Together we get a little something that could have been on the Yeah Yeah Yeahs latest album. Good song and a visually interesting video. Well done.
