Wet
I rarely play video games when they first come out but "Wet" caught my eye. Sex sells people, plus she reminds me of Revy from the Black Lagoon series. Anyway looks interesting, so definitely check out the website.
"When we first got to see Wet back in April, we greeted it with cautious optimism. You take on the role of Rubi Malone, a gun for hire who--in terms of her character--owes rather a lot to Tarantino's Bride from Kill Bill. We don't yet know exactly how the story will pan out, but your first mission is to intercept what seems to be a human organ that's being sold on the black market and handed off in some shady underground deal."

Tigerlily
Tigerlily is a clothing line of off beat and eclectic inspiration (whatever that means) and its something I could see the Olsen twins wearing. But what really caught my eye is that their website is amazing. A simple design with gorgeous photography and a great color palette. If I had a clothing line, this would be the perfect web design. Check it out!

Miseducation USA: We need Universal Health Insurance
I was for Uni Health Insurance but after watching this I AM REALLY FOR Uni Health Insurance. It just doesn't make sense. Capitalism has this positive/negative pull on this country and Healthcare is bringing it to light.
Why We Need Government-Run Universal Socialized Health Insurance
A cartoon explanation of why we need a public health insurance option. If you agree that a public option should be part of the health care reform bill, make sure you let your representatives know! And take action at YoungInvincibles.org

R.I.P. Sen. Edward Kennedy
Ted Kennedy's support for Obama in this past election was a key step in helping America elect its first black president and forever changing the dreams my children can have. Thank you.

FRESH MUSIC: Future Islands
I can't really put Future Islands in a box since their sound is a combination of soul, eletronica and a little 80's pop band. Either way, I like what they're doing and Future Islands is representing the Baltimore music scene, very well.
"For a three piece, Future Islands sure did create a wonderfully moving racket. Frontman Samuel Herring was like a great punk rock soul singer fronting a synth-heavy post-punk band.... Even people who had never seen or heard of Future Islands before were taken in by a fun-loving set." -- Tom Murphy, Denver Backbeat Online
My favorite songs are "Little Dreamer" and "Beach Foam".

Grafitti Lights The Way
I enjoy light writing and I think this a great tool to not only practice the art but to encourage you to try it outdoors. Good one
"thanks to the Halo LED spraycan -- a DIY project by Aissa Logerot -- which not only looks like the primary tool of al fresco art, it even recharges itself when shaken."
Halo LED spraycan lets you make grafitti the cheap, legal way -- engadget.com
"Mimicking an aerosol can, Paris-based designer Aïssa Logerot’s Halo uses an LED light in place of a nozzle and gets its power from the same shaking action that mixes the paint. The interchangeable LED bulbs allow different colors and brightness depending on the occasion. Read more"

The Job Posting Game!
So here is a great article from Monster.com (which I swear is a joke 90% of time) that tells you "how to increase your chances of landing an interview" by lying. Sort of. Either way, I found it helpful.
In today’s buyer’s market, employers have reason to be picky when it comes to credentials and degrees. “Companies that do this are usually trying to use the ad as a strong qualifier to cut down the massive number of resumes they receive,” explains Bethel, Connecticut-based job coach Judi Perkins. “The company hopes the list of requirements will deter the bulk of the unrealistic submittals.”
Tips for Overcoming Degree Requirements in Job Ads

Jobs not leaving the USA
Yahoo!hotjobs put together a small list of jobs that will never be outsourced mainly because of convenience but still I think its an interesting list for people to look into. This job market is tough and having a job that is a little more stable may be your next best step instead of specializing in DNA computer chips. Right?
"Not so long ago, having advanced computer skills was considered the ultimate in job security. How times have changed. Now, tech jobs are among the most heavily outsourced. Research firm Computer Economics recently estimated that more than half of all software application development work was contracted out last year"
Well-Paid Jobs That Won't Be Outsourced
On a side note... I'm constantly telling people to go be a dentist first then chase your dreams.
"4. Dental hygienist -- No matter how far technology advances, it's unlikely you'll be able to get your teeth cleaned here by someone who's overseas. Bergson notes that once you're in the dental field, you can move fairly easily into a variety of other roles including selling dental supplies. Median annual salary: $57,148"
Jugger
Could Jugger be the greatest sport of all time? I doubt it but I love the idea of swinging medieval weapons at each other while someone tries to score a touch down. Very cool! Anyways, the guy who wrote Blade Runner came up with it.
"Jugger is a sport that was inspired from the 1989 movie The Salute of the Jugger, released in the USA as The Blood of Heroes. The writer/director David Webb Peoples invented Jugger especially for that movie. The original transformation of the movie game into a real sport was done in two places of Germany and, independently, in the USA."
What is Jugger? ver.0.85a
It's on my Netflix, let me know if you want to come over and watch it with me.

FRESH MUSIC: The Cinematic Orchestra
The Cinematic Orchestra is a beautiful collection of electronic jazz soulful music. I love their vocals and their drums. It's peaceful and quite like a rainy day. Very emotional.
The Cinematic Orchestra is a British-based jazz and electronic outfit, created in the late 1990s by Jason Swinscoe. The Cinematic Orchestra's sound, in both live and studio contexts, employs a live band which improvises along with a turntablist and electronic elements such as samples provided by Swinscoe. In their studio releases Swinscoe will often remix the live source material to produce a finished product that is a seamless combination of live jazz improvisation with electronica, such that it is difficult to tell where the improvisation ends and the production begins. I read about it while I was in Giant. It's the craziest story ever. Plus she's 16 now?

FRESH MUSIC: Sliimy
I'm still trying to figure out if I like French Prince wanna be, Sliimy. He sounds like a barely male version of Kate Nash and his music is too happy. BUT its definitely something you can vibe to while cleaning your house (its a good way to test music). He writes catchy songs with enough freshness for a mix tape. "Wake Up" is my favorite Sliimy song so far.
"20 year old singer-songwriter Yanis Sahraouis is known to his fans simply as Sliimy. The unusual nickname rhymes with “Jimmy” and according to Sliimy, “the two ii’s are just meant to make you smile."
