Tropic Thunder - Best Comedy of the Year
This summer has truly been a rewarding time for movie lovers as the price of a movie ticket sky rockets past $10, (Now there's a reason to go to war!) but I can't complain because every movie I have seen in the theater this year so far has been worth it. No let downs and this past week I went to go see Tropic Thunder.
What's the plot, "Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying," and most people will think its a very funny movie with slightly over the top humor. WHICH is SO true! I loved it and I think most guys will like it to. The humor is gritty, candid and honest. There are a TON of movie references and inside jokes that you won't get (because you don't work in the movie industry) but there are so many jokes that you can't help but laugh your balls off.
This gets an "A" for a comedy film and a "B+" for being a film. The cinematography for the action scenes is excellent and the acting is on point. (Robert Downey Jr is back!) This is definitely a must see this weekend and I'm so going to buy it on DVD. Oh and kill all film critics.

FRESH MUSIC #8: Thao with The Get Down Stay Down
Thao with The Get Down Stay Down are going to be at the Black Cat tonight and I SO want to GO!
Well I'm not a person who listens to a lot of folk music but a couple of months ago I came across one of their music videos and just loved their vibe. Their music is honest , their melodies are fun and Thao Nguyen vocals are uniquely wonderful.

I'm not into camping and really have never been, which is crazy do to the fact that a spent sooo much time hiking through the woods behind my house growing up. Well, I thought this was a creative practical way of taking a shower outdoors. I'm sure you would be able to pull this off with a small black trash bag, but Pocket Shower is too cute of a name.

I thought it was a funny story until I found out that they were black labs. NOW I'm pissed. They would never EVER attack you. Even if Calvo was guilty that was unnecessary.

Maggie is Catwoman and more Batman 3 Tips
If you haven't seen The Dark Knight yet...STOP READING!! Cause you're a moron and may miss out on one of the best films to be in theaters in the last decade. I'm serious! Go See It!
Moving on...well after a brief discussion about the beauty and minor flaws of the new Batman movie. I happen to mention some villains that I would like to see in the next batman movie. I grew up watching Batman: The Animated Series and they covered almost every villain. So we browsed the web for info and upon further investigation...to my surprise a few names popped up and few mysteries were revealed to me and I will share them with you.
1. Two Face is back. Aaron Eckhart's contract is for two Batman flicks so Two Face didn't die, but Harvey's character did (explains the funeral). I think this is the best looking Two Face I have ever seen and I can't wait too see the two piece suit.
2. Rachel Dawes didn't die!?! Maggie Gyllenhaal signed on two do two Batman films as well! So if her character didn't die, we're guessing she will rise from the ashes as Sylenal Kyle and become Catwoman since she would have 8 lives left, anyway. Michelle Pfeiffer did an amazing job and I don't think it can be beat, but Catwoman is one of those characters you got to love. Good luck Maggie, you're growing on me.

3. The third film in fact could involve the Riddler and Mr Johnny Depp will of course sample some of his Willy Wanka to bring this character to life.

4. The final tip is that there could also be an introduction of The Penguin played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. Again Danny DeVito's Penguin is vile and gross, which worked for the film but Hoffman is an amazing actor full of surprises so I would expect something different.

So there you go. Four possible villains in The Return of the Dark Knight. My guess is that Two Face and Catwoman create the Penguin like Joker created them. He is the Dog of Chaos.
