Screaming Females is an American rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey. They're signed to Don Giovanni Records and their album Castle Talk is on my road trip playlist. They have such a classic solid sound I left their show thinking that "rock is definitely not dead" and it warmed my heart. Marissa Paternoster is one of the best guitar playing vocalist I've ever seen live. With over six albums and more than a decade of music making the Screaming Females are the best band you've never heard of.
Woolbright is a band from Davie, Florida and their lead singer Candice Maritato has a great voice for their garage rock sound. They're the kind of band that could open for the Screaming Females and you would be like, "Oh shit, this band is good."
I listened to a lot of ska music as a teenager. Especially ska covers, so Ska Tune Network is definitely a vibe I can get behind. Besides being the CEO of SKA, they also play trombone in a band called We Are The Union and curates a ska-spirations playlist on spotify that's pretty dope.
Holy Holy sounds like one of those bands that I should have known about already. Holy Holy are an Australian indie rock band formed by songwriters Timothy Carroll (vocals, guitar) and Oscar Dawson (guitar) in 2011. They have release three top 20 studio albums and have been nominated for an ARIA Music Award. When talking about their music Carroll explains that they use “...emotive chord progressions that subtly influence the way you feel. They feed into the lyrics. You don’t realise why, but you’re listening to the song and certain emotions come up."
